Shamans are people who heal and awaken others by using their connection with nature and the spirit world.
Shamans gather psychically guided information about a soul through their spirit guides, gods, and ancestors by traveling into the spirit world by using drums, herbs, and crystals.
They can also communicate with other spirits, gods, and deities. Shamans rely on their connection with Mother Earth in order to discover herbs and various plants renowned for their healing properties.
In most cases, people become shamans after experiencing death and rebirth. This cycle of death and rebirth can happen on a physical, emotional, or energetic level, and it usually serves as an indication that the soul is ready to embody the role of the cha-man.
They’re traditional healers who also have the gift of mediumship and the gift of herbalism (the power of plants that, once properly prepared, can heal, protect, and strengthen living bodies).
Shamans are people who work with energy, especially healing energy. In fact, the word shaman translates to “the one who knows”.
Shamanism is comparable to that of witch doctors, energy healers, and practitioners of alternative medicine. It has developed independently in a number of different cultures.
But because this method of healing has been frowned upon for a very long time, and so-called “witches” have been burned at the stake for practicing it, a once common practice has now become “alternative” and is largely forgotten.
It is believed that once you have been initiated as a shaman in one life, you are destined to return and pass on some of your knowledge in subsequent lives.
In a previous life, you might have worked on learning or reinforcing the skills to activate your shamanic power, and your vocation in this life would be to finally embody this role.
If you find that all of this resonates with you, then here are 7 signs that your shamanic power may be awakening:
1. You’ve recovered from a serious illness, you’re having a psychotic episode, or you’ve been struck by lightning
Even though it may seem like these experiences are happening at random, they are all connected to the call of the shaman.
It is a common belief that in order to become a shaman, someone must go through a complete “death and rebirth” of the soul, and this can manifest as some form of temporary illness.
Some people say that during this experience, they traveled through the spirit world and were implanted with some kind of crystal or knowledge about their role as a shaman before returning to Earth.
2. You have a close relationship with nature and animals
Shamans have a unique connection with nature and its inhabitants, including animals, and they use these elements as guides or messengers.
If you receive messages from plants or animals, or if you are sensitive to nature and the environment, it could be a sign of your inner awakening as a shaman.
3. You turn to herbalism or healthy foods for healing and instinctively know what you need to use
Shamans can make natural herbal concoctions to heal and heal wounds in both the energetic and physical body.
It is fascinating to note that many medicinal herbs used in traditional shamanism have recently been confirmed by science.
If you tend to gravitate towards the kitchen and garden in search of herbs to heal any ailment, this may be a sign that you have had a past connection with the shamanic world.
4. You have vivid dreams or astral travel, visiting other worlds or dimensions
Shamans have the ability to travel to other dimensions and pick up information from the past, future, and present life of your soul.
You might find yourself astral traveling while you sleep if you have this gift, or you may have strange dreams about encounters with otherworldly or spiritual beings.
5. You have psychic abilities, strong feelings, or the gift of mediumship
Since shamans spend so much time communicating with the other side, it is not uncommon for them to have the gifts of clairvoyance and mediumship.
As a reborn shaman, it’s likely that you carried these gifts with you into this life.
6. You feel awake, happy, or soothed by the sound of the drum
Drums and maracas are two things that shamans use to travel to other worlds or to channel other spirits.
If you are deeply moved by the rhythms produced by drums and other percussion instruments, this could be a sign that you have your roots in shamanism.
7. You begin to hear the call of your shamanic roots
The ability to hear the call from another shaman, from your dreams, or from the spirit world is one of the ways that you can determine for certain whether or not you have the gift of shamanism.
Occasionally, another shaman or messenger will enter your life to remind you of your gifts and the path you’re destined to take.
